"Veterans Day 2024 29th June Leeuwarden Airbase.
The twentieth edition of the Dutch Veterans Day. On June 29, 2024, The Hague will shine for the twentieth time as the
stage for this special tribute to our veterans. It is the day when all of the Netherlands thanks its more than 100,000
veterans for their efforts in the service of peace and security, both now and in the past.
Around 1 p.m., the National Defile through the center of The Hague starts. Nearly 4,000 veterans and military personnel
march around the Hofvijver, followed by historic army vehicles. H.M. the King takes the parade off on the Kneuterdijk.
An air parade with eighteen historic and modern aircraft
precedes the ground parade. This combination of veterans from all missions, soldiers from across the armed forces,
civilian and military marching bands, and historic and modern
army vehicles is unique in the Netherlands.

After the 2nd flyby, the POLLY formation headed east to do another flyby over the Dutch TT circuit in Assen.
Somewhere over the IJsselmeer, POLLY3 had a bird strike on the left side of the cockpit window. Immediately the
emergency procedure was started, the wingman (POLLY4) made a visual inspection of any damage to the aircraft.
POLLY 3 and 4 went directly rtb to Leeuwarden and POLLY1 and 2 continued to the TT circuit, for a 2ship flyby. All aircrafts made a safe landing at Leeuwarden Airbase.
