Target: Emden town
Fate: After the attacks on the target at Emden, the bomber was probably noticed in the sector of the German radar post "TIGER" on Terschelling, and send an night-fighter from the 6.NJG.2 "Fliegerhorst" Leeuwarden flown by OBLT Ludwig Becker and Uffz. Josef Straub. The Pilot of the night-fighter Ludwig Becker intercepted the Wellington and fired with his cannon and Machine gun on the tail turret, killing Rear Gunner Sgt W. Rutherford, while the second burst of fire hit the forward gun turret and astrodome, wounding Flight Sgt Groves and killing Co Pilot Sgt Fowler. The damaged Wellington made a crash-landing on the beach near Paal20,
at the east side of the "Boschplaat" Terschelling.

Fate: On the way to the target, Duisburg town, the bomber was noticed by German radar post "TIGER" at Terschelling , and send an nightfighter of the type Messerschmidt BF-110 from Fliegerhorst Leeuwarden flown by Commander 12.NJG1 OBLT Lothar Linke (33) and his radar operator Walter Czybulka.
At about 5000 meters of the ground, fired OBLT Linke with his guns on the Halifax. thereby shooting some steering surfaces from the tail of the Bomber. The uncontrollable plane went down and crashed between Harlingen and Achlum. Before crashing, the unmanaged Halifax broke into pieces and spead across a large area near Harlingen and Achlum.
