March 31st until April 11th FRISIAN FLAG 2014




The Frisian Flag is a Big two weeks exercise with Multi-international cooperation with realistic defence and offence scenario's. This exercise Frisian Flag is hosted by Leeuwarden airbase located in the Frisian Flag mission area.
There will be huge effort with 'digital warfare' the Link-16 datalink system.

The participants will be the EPAF F-16AM/BM's from The Netherlands, Norwegian, Belgium, Danish and Portuguese Air forces.
Other expected participants are for the first time EF2000 Eurofighter from the Ejército del Aire (Spanish Airforce), and again the F-18C from Suomen Ilmavoimat (finnish Airforce), and the EF2000 from the German Luftwaffe. The NATO is present with the E-3A AWACS from Geilenkirchen, Germany.
For the Air-to-Air Refueling(AAR) missions is support from the GAF with the Airbus A310, AMI with the KC-767 and RNLAF with the KDC10 to participate from Eindhoven Air Base.
The Army supports with Forward air Controlers (FAC), the Navy supports with a vessel for Defensive and offensive trainings-missions.

Operating areas are northern Tra's; CORNFIELD-range (EHR-4A); Marnewaard (EHR-2) and area west of the coast village Zurich, south of Harlingen. Within a range of 20 Km around Zurich an altitude is used of 1200 feet, except the Waddenzee; marnewaard also 1200 feet is allowed, without the Waddenzee and the Waddenzee a minimum altitude of 1500 feet.
Also the Frisian Flag can use the dutch Delta's 1-10 located above the North sea for unrestricted air operations and also the North-western German airspace.
